Travel Bugs

What has been your experience with putting out Travel Bugs? I have put out 6 and so far I have lost 3. One of them was lost in a new cache that I didn't even get published before it went missing. Have you ever used the lost TB copy tag or code on another item? What is the longest mileage your TB has gone?

Of the five travel bugs we have out in the wild, two are missing. The bug "Red Tractors Are Better" made to Colorado to a cache called Clear Creek Bug right off of I-70. It traveled about 686 miles from the time we released it in mid September 2011 and hasn't been seen since it was place in that cache. The other one called "Fluttering Around" made it to the Long Beach area after logging 11,813 miles before it went missing.

We haven't written them off yet hoping it will show back up someday.

One of our bugs in the wild called Froggie from Jamestown, North Dakota has logged 15,996 miles so far.

The travel bugs on our vehicle has logged 22,463 caching miles, although we don't know if that counts since we are the ones moving it.
